Beethoven - Glenn Gould – Sonatas No. 12, Op. 26 & No. 13, Op. 27, No. 1 (CBS Masterworks – M 37831, 1983 🇺🇸)
Gould takes a break from Bach to explore some of Ludwig’s more sprightly sonatas and a a few dire funeral works. This pressing - 40 years old at time of writing - is nearly flawless with minor vinyl noise and distortion. A wonderful track listing, a gargantuan pianist and, of course, Ludwig. A great piece for Sunday evening.
