Controversial opinion time: Rock ‘n’ Roll might be my favorite JL solo album. A set list like the one on this record is just full of wild abandon and some kind of compositional magic; a fairy dust that provides not only a great song, but reveals a portal for the artist to ride through to their desired warp zone. John was built to perform these songs and vice versa. This is my American repress from 1980. With JL’s bday approaching, I’m sure I’ll be spinning plenty of Lennon in the house over the next few days.
